What is a peptide?

Signaling, not saturation.

A peptide is a short chain of amino acids: the same building blocks as proteins, but smaller. Most peptides in clinical use contain between 2 and 50 amino acids. Because of their size, they interact with specific receptor sites with precision that larger molecules often lack.

Where a supplement might provide a nutrient your body uses diffusely, a peptide sends a precise signal to a specific receptor or pathway. This is one reason why the side-effect profile of many peptides is notably different from systemic pharmaceuticals.
